Updated 13/10/2013 – We’re really sad that Lahloo Pantry has now closed, taking their beautiful teas and cakes with them. Unfortunately the teas are no longer available online either.
You can read some of our other tea-related posts here.
For tea-lovers Lahloo Pantry is like stepping in to a tea-paradise. With two walls pretty much dedicated to storing the different teas on offer, you are certainly spoilt for choice.
I popped in with my lovely friend Faye a few weeks ago for a much needed catch up. The cafe is warm and welcoming with a relaxed vibe. As you enter you can’t help but lust after the huge selection of home made cakes, scones, tarts and treats on the counter.
We took a seat downstairs and started poring over the tea menu. With so much choice choosing was a challenge. There are multiple options for white, green, oolong, black, pu-erh and herbal tea.
We decided to stick with black tea, going for a Grandpa’s and an Earl Grey. On the cake front I ordered a slice of the homemade victoria sponge and Faye opted for a lemon scone with passion fruit curd.
The tea’s when they arrived were relaxing and the perfect accompaniment to a girly gossip. Faye’s scone was good, the passion fruit curd was zingy and really tasty.
It was my victoria sponge cake which stole the show however – possibly the very best victoria sponge cake I have ever had! For starters it was ginormous and oozing with fresh strawberries and vanilla cream – every forkful was like mouthful of heaven (I think the picture speaks for itself)
Whether you’re on a health kick and fancy Matcha green tea, or just want to catch up with friends over traditional cuppa and a piece of cake, Lahloo Pantry will not disappoint.
Foodie Tip – Lahloo also often have gluten free options in so great for those with what allergies looking for a spot of lunch :-)
