The Nicest Cup Of Tea (and the most glamorous!)

What better way to spend the first Sunday afternoon of Spring than at a vintage themed high tea? Last Sunday was the first event held by Bristol Vintage, a vintage crockery and events planning company.

Kati and Ali at Bristol Vintage had the perfect location – the Boathouse Scout Hut in Redcliffe. Situated next to the water, it was light and airy with a maritime themed interior and adorned with bunting from wall to wall.

We arrived to prosecco served in babycham glasses (very kitsch) and long tables filled with sandwiches, scones, cakes, old music played through a wind up gramophone and black and white films projected onto the ceiling. The most beautiful and glamorous Tea Cups, Side plates Teapots and Cake stands were littered everywhere and gave the room a real vintage vibe!!

With unlimited top -ups of tea and coffee and a good 3 or 4 top ups of prosecco the hours just melted away and before we knew it the afternoon tea was drawing to a close.

At only £10 per ticket we definitely got more than our money’s worth, forget the expression “nice cup of tea” this was without a doubt the nice-est cup of tea and the most enjoyable afternoon I’ve had in a long time.

I hope that this was the first of many events hosted by Bristol Vintage – my name will definitely be on the list for the next one!

Interesting stuff! I travelled to England this summer and had some afternoon tea with scones , and it was absolutely delicious I thought I’d make my own last weekend. I might have broken a few rules maybe – I found a website full of random scone recipes here and made 5 different ones! My friends were so happy when I brought them round for tea and scones, complete with real whipped cream. Lots of fun!
